NASA astronaut Jeanette Epps reached orbit at the age of 53, after waiting more than 15 years for her flight. Before that, she spent more than seven years working for the CIA. In Iraq, she helped search for weapons of mass destruction. And the war zone wasn’t the only dangerous situation she faced. She was supposed to fly to the International Space Station aboard a Soyuz several
years earlier, but NASA removed her from the crew without giving any explanation. In the end, she launched aboard Crew Dragon. And from orbit, she watched a solar eclipse.
