How to Use English Prepositions Correctly in Real Situations [525]

Speak Better English with Harry

Clear, practical English for intermediate and advanced learners. Speak Better English with Harry helps you use natural English with confidence in real situations — at work and in everyday conversations. Each episode focuses on vocabulary, collocations, phrasal verbs, and expressions that native speakers actually use, explained clearly and simply by an experienced native English teacher. This podcast is ideal if you already know the basics and want to sound more natural, fluent, and confident when you speak English.

This episode explains prepositions of place, time, and movement with clear examples, making it easier to use them correctly. Prepositions can be confusing, even for advanced English learners. Many people struggle with when to use in, on, or at, and small mistakes can change the meaning of a sentence. You will learn how to choose the right preposition in common situations, including why we say on the bus but in a car, and how meanings change depending on context. The lesson also covers tricky pairs like into vs in and onto vs on, as well as by vs until when talking about time. By the end, you will have a better understanding of how prepositions work and be able to avoid common mistakes. A short quiz at the end will help reinforce what you have learnt.Share Your ThoughtsSupport the showAdvanced English lessons on my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/learnenglishwithharry Learn English with HarryOnline courses start from only €7.99.
