WAR IN UKRAINE: War, History And Hope

Ukraine .
Four years of invasion, four years of defiance.
The Russian Federation claims four eastern Ukrainian provinces, the Crimean Peninsula, and shows no signs of stopping at the country’s east. What was meant to be a three-day "special military operation" has now turned into a static war lasting four years.
Although most of the Western world continues to stand firmly behind Ukraine—expressing solidarity through arms supplies and humanitarian aid—there are still those who question the importance of Ukraine’s fight for freedom, autonomy, and above all—democracy.
Why is there war in Ukraine? How did independent Ukraine come to be? And is the war somehow Ukraine’s fault?
All of these questions will be answered today in Silvestr's Voicemail. Prepare for a deep dive into Ukraine’s complicated history, its people's struggle for recognition, and finally into the present—what’s happening in Ukraine, what might happen next, and why this war affects all of us.
