Gaza. Hamas. Israel. For two years now, the world’s attention has been fixated on yet another brutal war in the Middle East.Israel relentlessly bombs the Gaza Strip; Hamas continues killing civilians.Regional tensions that had been simmering for years finally erupted into a full-scale conflict of unprecedented scale. War is evil — that much is certain. But who, in this case, embodies the greater evil? Why is Gaza at war? Do we even understand Hamas’s war in Gaza? Do we know how it started — or why Israel targets civilian areas? Why is Gaza starving? And is there anything we, in Central Europe, can do about it?Tonight, Silvestr’s Voicenote sets out to answer these questions.Buckle up for an expedition through the tangled history of the Middle East — from the birth of Zionism, through the founding of Israel, to the Cold War’s geopolitical chessboard and today’s events. Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seatbelts. <hr> Hosted on Acast.
