The Slovak Snapshots: Slovaks will elect a new president today

The electoral campaign for the second round of the presidential elections in Slovakia ended at midnight on Wednesday and a moratorium is in effect. During this period, presidential candidates cannot campaign. It is forbidden to publish the results of opinion polls and election surveys. The moratorium lasts until voting closes on polling day.

Smer's candidate for the European Parliament gave an interview to a portal through which the Russians wanted to influence the European elections. Erik Kaliňák accused the media of spreading deceitful and hateful lies about him. "Yesterday, I contacted Paľo Gašpar (deputy director of the Slovak Information Service ) and asked him to check the financial connections of all media, as well as the personal accounts of individual journalists, including those standing here," said Kaliňák.
