When south-london multidisciplinary artist Gaika released his debut mixtape Machine in 2015, it was described as avantgarde grime influenced by dancehall and industrial music. But more important was his message, that there’s something wrong in the british society. Fear, police brutality, racism, inequality and debt. The empire is in ruins. It’s time to start building up based on new values. And so Gaika started building The Spectacular Empire - infrastructure of forward-thinking black art and music - together with DJ, manager and booking agent Mensa and a few years ago also with singer, composer and organizer Glor1a. Not waiting for authorities to support them, with their new project Nine Nights they are showing the industry how a sustainable and fair collective organization could look like.

The Institute of Anxiety creates a space for the study of anxiety, which is spreading throughout society and manifests itself through insomnia, stress, alienation, loss of empathy, inequalities, and violence. It is suppressed without success by products of the pharmaceutical industry and intensified by growing social and economic uncertainty. The institute aims to be a platform where anxiety communicates and opens itself to a potential solution and turns into a force that is capable of radicalizing and forcing structural changes in the current state of affairs.
