Now we are located in the lower part of Wenceslas Square, which is known for a large number of restaurants and boutiques. There are plenty of clothes shops, shoe shops and souvenir shops. Wenceslas Square is favoured a lot among tourists, mainly because of the historical part, where we will move now. The lower and upper parts of Wenceslas Square are divided by tram tracks.
We are currently standing by the statue of St. Wenceslas on horseback. The square got its spectacular name according to him. The author of this historical statue is Josef Václav Myslbek, one of the most famous Czech sculptors. The surrounding statues personalize St. Prokop, St. Anežka Česká, St. Ludmila and St. Vojtěch. Together with Václav they symbolize the patrons of the Czech country.
