Many fundamentalists believe that the Law of God is never archaic because when He made those laws He knew not only what was happening at the time, but also things that would happen to the end of time. Because they suddenly have something challenging the way they live their lives, the way they think other people should live their lives, so the word is a reaction to more recent ideas like science and non religious or secular ideas that have come in.
